Zurich Assurance Ltd, authorised by the Prudentual Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. Registered in England and Wales under company number 02456671. Registered office: The Grange, Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, GL52 8XX

Zurich Municipal provides insurance to the public sector. Local Authority risk is basically insuring against fraud, negligence and incompetence but most importantly of all, against claims from corrupt officers and claims from members of the public who find out that foul play has occurred and has had the luck and fortitude to pursue the paper trails.

It is unclear if payments may be made where malice or misfeasance is involved, or indeed if insurance is available to protect persons operating with such criminal intent.  This is a matter for further investigation.

Registered members may enjoy an electronic library of reference materials that may be of use. In addition it provides the gateway to a new Milestone Management service - a new online facility allowing registered Authorities to manage their claims online.

If you are bringing a Claim against your local authority, it might well be in your interest to get the low down from Zurich municipal.
