IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A NEW CAREER YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW MORE OF WEALDEN'S ADMINISTRATION BEFORE JOINING UP:
Job VacanciesWealden's administration is corrupt. Hundreds of people in the locality will testify to that. High up staff are so used to lying to the public and representatives of the public, they can no longer differentiate the truth from a lie. If you apply for a position at Wealden, then eventually you will be asked to cover up some deception or other. Though you may not want to, once dependent on your wage, you will be pressured to tow the line, or sacked and discredited. If you remain silent you will become party to the lie, fraud or whatever scam is going on. The staff turnover is high for this very reason. Until such time as bent officers are replaced with honest ones and new practices put in place to prevent corruption, you might want to consider working elsewhere. However, if you are desperate for work, then why not join in the fun. Keep track of every foul up you come across. Every back dated document, every document taken off file, and every secret memo hiding some unsavory dealing - putting peoples lives at risk, children in care at risk to save a few pounds, to reward the high ranking fat cat salaries for sweeping the dirt under the carpet for so long. You might then want to blow the whistle and watch the officers rush to gag you in return for a large chunk of change. Alternatively, you could sue them for unfair dismissal and still get handsomely paid - and do the public a good service. If your morals are shot to bits, you could just keep quiet about all the wrongdoing and climb the promotional ladder - take the bribes. The dirty housing, poor local amenities, officer led decision making, planning favours for friends, etc, etc, is grist to the mill. But what about your children? Personally, I'd rather see the culprits made to account for the multitude of sins that go to make Wealden a by word for dishonest double dealing. Best value is "a duty to deliver services to clear standards – covering both cost and quality – by the most effective, economic and efficient means available." It sets a demanding framework, challenging us to assess and re-assess our aims and objectives, identify the needs of local people and businesses, our ability to meet these needs and the availability of our resources. The best value framework requires local authorities to report on their performance each year at the end of June. The Council’s assessment of its performance in supporting its Corporate Objectives, priorities and targets are set down in its annual Performance Plans. Our 2003/04 Performance Plan can be viewed and downloaded from this site.
THIS SITE CONTAINS MANY EXAMPLES OF THIS COUNCIL'S UNREASONABLE BEHAVIOUR - With thanks to Action Groups across the country for the supply of real case history and supporting documents. *THAT THE PUBLIC MAY KNOW*
